Its that time of year again where villages across the country get set for the annual Britain in Bloom festival.

Britain in Bloom is about great presentation of villages, the flowers and the plants but its also essential that the identity of the village and their publicity is the best it can be too.

When Standish Britain in Bloom committee approached me to design a new logo for the 2011 Standish in Bloom presentation I was delighted to help.

The insisted on having a Mayflower in the logo and for it “to reflect Standish”.  Having lived in Standish for 30 years I had a good sense of how to reflect the village and surrounding area.

Standish I feel is a friendly village, with heritage but a modern and upwardly mobile feel.  The logo I came up with I feel encapsulates that.  When presented to the Standish in Bloom committee the felt it “hit the nail on the head” and would be a positive insignia for the Standish in Bloom campaign.
