Organic SEO … eternal advertising

organic-SEOOrganic SEO what exactly is it?

Organic SEO, stands for Organic Search Engine Optimisation.  Organic in search engine terms is the opposite of paid for advertising, all the pages on your website are organic pieces of content.

Search engines look at all the pieces of content on your website and pick out words that describe what your content is about.  Some words appear more than others, if you sell fruit then you will more than likely use the word fruit most in your content.  The words used the most are known as keywords.

A search engine then looks at all the websites with content that uses similar keywords and scores them against one another.  The way search engines score websites and content is wide and diverse, some of the scoring is publicly known, some of it is top-secret.

In principle if you are a keen writer and enjoy writing about your business frequently you should do quite well on search engines.  However you may only do well for certain keywords, and the keywords you use may not be used by your customers.

To complicate matters your content will appear differently depending on what search a customer uses.  For instance a search for – “fruit shop in London” is different from a search for “London fruit shop”, content will score differently.

Organic SEO to the rescue!

This is were Organic SEO comes in.  Organic SEO services use intensive data analysis to understand just exactly what is being searched for, what content will work best for that search then write the content to fit.

Of course there’s a little more you need to know than that, search engines have specific rules about keywords, how the content is structured, what code is used etc.  Plus search engines are hungry beasts, they love fresh content, so the more fresh content written the better your site will rank, the more visitors you receive.

The upshot of good regular Organic SEO is you have more good content relevant to your customers that can convert into sales.  Most importantly a piece of organic search optimised content will stay on your site for the life of the site – eternal advertising!

So if you’ve heard the term Organic SEO and you didn’t really know what it means, now you know.  It’s content written for your potential customers that search engines rank well.
