Keep your website up to date

Customers talk to me about getting to the top of Google – my reply is for what search string, what words are your customers using and what are they looking for?

Some customers will say I want to be the top for my business name, or for ‘x y z’ search string.  The truth is getting to the top of Google isn’t difficult, if you have the right content for what your customers are looking for and you are not sitting in a market place that is saturated by the competition.

The plain and simple truth is keep your website up to date, use the blog and news facility built in to every WN6 Creative Design website and your content will find its natural ranking on Google and your customers will find you.  Live your business online!  Talk about what you are doing week to week or day to day, the natural vocabulary of your blog posts will build up a certain keyword density that will naturally rank you accordingly.  Plus by updating your site regularly Google search spiders will understand that you are passionate about your business and almost certainly are providing the most relevant and up to date information.  Remember Google is firstly in the business of providing people with the most relevant and up to date search results on the web – thats its job.

An example of who this concept works is the case of a local business who was holding a Bonfire Event.  The customer hadnt ever posted events on the website believing that it was a waste of time as his old site was of poor ‘spiderable’ quality and therefore search spiders passed it by.  With a little encouragement regular content was placed on the new site and with the support of Google analysis WN6 Creative Design proved that investing in content is a good thing.  So events where added, Halloween, Bonfire, Christmas etc.

This Bonfire Night this local business had the most successful night on record bar none.  More custom than Christmas, and any other night in their history – why because people found them on Google.  The need to attend a Bonfire in the Local Area, and having the event indexed by Google provide a result that amazed the business owners.  Whats more the analysis supports the fact that good content on a website that Google likes will reap the rewards – just as WN6 Creative Design have always suggested.

The proof is in the graph below, -and average of 22 Page Views per day across 30 days, rising to 300+ on the November 5th
