Having a fast website is more important many people imagine. A fast website not only ensures your visitors can access the site easily and quickly but also means search engines can access the site quickly too.
Better search engine access can often mean better performance on search engines, which should drive more visitors and gain you more business from your website.
How fast exactly is your website?
You may think it’s fast enough, but speed online isn’t just about what you think, it’s about how your site compares to the rest of the millions of websites out there.
An easy way to test the speed of your website is to use a tool like Pingdom Tools. The site is free, easy to use and gives you an instant idea of how fast your website actually is.
Simply enter your website address, choose a location to test from, I usually choose Amsterdam and click TEST NOW.
The website will quickly scan your site and provide you with a set of results. Take a look at the performance grade (Perf. Grade) it should be as high as possible (The WN6 website scores 99/100). Next take a look at the line underneath that scores your website speed against all the other recently tested websites, as you can see WN6 website is 70% faster than all other sites tested.
Every website I build I work hard to make sure the performance grade is as high as possible for the budget, most score over 90 with many scoring 99/100. So they should be much better for visitors and better for search engines too.
