Bespoke Website Design
Bespoke website design appears in the copy of many website pages. What actually does this actually mean in the good ole wild west of the web? To some bespoke website design means looking through a library of existing website scripts such as the ones you will find on themeforest and then changing a few colours, adding the logo and “hey you have bespoke”, well ish! Call me old school but for me that’s not bespoke website design or even ‘ish’
Using themeforest themes is all very well and good and the option is open to clients of WN6 Creative Web Design if they so wish, I can install these themes and set them up to your choosing. It can be a cheaper alternative to a totally bespoke design. However there are a number of issues with choosing a theme from themeforest and using it on your website.
Firstly bespoke website design by definition means – a website made to order. Or some may say a bespoke website design is a website that is unique to you. If you decided you like the top selling theme forest theme Avada you would be sharing it with 49,000 other businesses. Bespoke? I don’t think so!
Not so bespoke website design
So maybe you say “I don’t mind sharing and I don’t mind having a not so bespoke website design” That’s great we can do off the beg websites along side bespoke websites, so WN6 Creative Website Design can install anyone of the thousands of themes from a myriad of sources, on themeforest for you. But, the next problem will come when you start to populate the site with content, is the website design you’ve just had installed great because it’s simply a great design or has the look of it been amplified by great stock photography? In most cases the photography works wonders, often when installed and populated with content they look less polished. Trust me they won’t look anything like as good with images of a factory and a fork lift truck on a rainy day in Wigan.
Thirdly themeforest website templates may seem great value for money in some ways, but how do you know they are well coded and well supported. When you have a website built with themeforest templates if anything goes wrong with the template, support can be difficult. We have to contact the developers, the developers could be sat in some bedroom in Moscow, Delhi, San Fransisco or Platt Bridge, Wigan. The problem is they could even have gone on holiday for 3 months or stopped supporting the template all together, and more often than not they would need to provide the fix, be available and amiable to fix it. Often it’s not the case.
Lastly themeforest templates aren’t always that spectacular and more often than not you will gain better results, a more bespoke design, greater flexibility and much better support if you use themeforest templates as a starter to understand what you like. Take for instance the top selling Avada theme .. then take a look at the Withgreen website.
WN6 Creative Websites built the Withgreen website as the client loved Avada but wanted his own twist and the theme tailored more to his needs … yes it’s similar, but it’s bespoke, made to order for him … plus it was built from the ground up by WN6 Creative in the UK and is fully supported by us. The resulting theme is quicker, bespoke, clean coded and more search engine friendly.
So when is bespoke website design not bespoke? Basically when a web designer passes off an off the peg web design and sells it at bespoke prices. That’s not bespoke, that’s called being ripped off. And it happens more than you think. In the last 3 months alone WN6 Creative have worked with clients who own sites that have been sold as bespoke but I explained to them they had been resold a themeforest web design. Now if you’ve already taken a look at themeforest you’ll see that themes are sold for approx $55, and yes WN6 Creative Web Design would charge an installation fee to set up a themeforest template but we certainly wouldn’t ever pass it off as our own or charge the £3,500 the client had to pay to an unscrupulous agency somewhere down south.
So by all means use choose off the peg designs if you don’t mind sharing and yes, you or I can buy the design of your choice, and yes we can set it up for you, but you will understand in black and white .. it’s not bespoke and it won’t cost anything like £3,500 to set up – FACT!
WN6 Creative established over 8 years are proud to provide crystal clear, value for money and good quality services across the board.
